Black History Month: Generational Beauty

For this Black History Month project, my team (including copy & design) developed a heart-felt concept around celebrating generational beauty. Which family member do you look like? Where do you get your features from? What are some beauty tips that your family/friends have passed down to you?

To bring this concept to life, we researched creators who already speak very openly, from the heart, and authentically on TikTok. Ahliyah MIchelle was the perfect fit! She did a fantastic job of not only sharing her beauty story with her grandmother while creating a beauty look with Walmart products.

I advised Ahliyah Michelle on what she would wear, along with selecting her photo shoot location and lighting style. I referenced some of the videos from her TikTok account so we could capture something that was authentic to her style.
