In 2016 I cofounded Enough Brands with friend and former colleague, Michele Serro, an entrepreneurial endeavor with the vision of creating right-sized consumer products designed for convenience and conservation.
We worked closely with seasoned personal care chemists to develop a product innovation: single-use, solid concentrates that would convert to liquid with a little bit of water and pressure. After a year and a half, we had five final products—shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, and toothpaste—all formulated without sulfates, parabens, or phthalates.
Due to a number of manufacturing challenges, we made the difficult decision to shutter Enough in 2018, but the lessons we learned along the way—about production, the category, and ourselves—were myriad.
