Robinhood 24 Hours Market

In 2023 Robinhood extended its trading hours becoming the first U.S. brokerage to offer 24-hour trading in individual stocks.
We needed to express in the line chart, that the market didn't close past regular trading hours. Given the intricacy of the app's interface, management asked us to avoid introducing new components and instead work with the current interface to indicate the new trading hours as well as which securities could be traded during the new market hours.
Inspired by the twilight hours of the day, we leveraged color as the principal signal for change with two gradients, one signifying upswing and another for downturn. They appear in the movement indicator under the security price and in the line chart.
A hero illustration served as a foundational element to an information system composed by chips, lists, cards and half sheets.
