Curseborn Saga Fade To Black Book Cover

For the new edition of their fantasy novel series, the team at Four Lords wanted something colorful and impactful. Inspired by the manga and anime esthetic that at the core of the story's DNA, we settled on a clean-cut design where the background would be pure white, which would let the silhouettes of the characters and the main elements stand out. It would be clean shapes, with a hand-painted rendering inside.
We also decided to have to distinct images on the front and on the back, to give a broader preview of the world and the story, by showing very different moods (action vs contemplative landscape) and scales (up-close in the action vs faraway observer).
The paintings are hand-painted in oils on canvas and gessoed paper.
