NowThis is seeking a Senior Visual Designer to conceptualize and create graphic assets, templates, and motion graphics. As a member of the Design team, you’ll help lead and uphold design and assist with motion needs, enhancing and implementing our motion toolkits across existing franchises inside the newsroom, executing, conceptualizing, and branding of upcoming original series and projects. NowThis is seeking a Senior Visual Designer to conceptualize and create graphic assets, templates, and motion graphics. As a member of the Design team, you’ll help lead and uphold design and assist with motion needs, enhancing and implementing our motion toolkits across existing franchises inside the newsroom, executing, conceptualizing, and branding of upcoming original series and projects. You’ll be based in our New York City office and report to the Art Director.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Develop a deep understanding of NowThis’ current design and motion strategy
Lead the design strategy of upcoming original content series and executing toolkits for new and existing franchises/platforms. This includes a solid understanding of motion design and templates
Implement designs for special editions/reports for both the newsroom and special platforms content

Collaborate with the art director, graphic designers, motion designers, publishers, and editors to create a cohesive graphics and tools
Organize and prioritize projects to ensure all deadlines are met with precision. Must be collaborative and transparent on progress, deadlines, and expectations between teams.

SUCCESS WILL LOOK LIKE:
Self-starter with a passionate interest in storytelling and new media
Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and communicate progress
Deep understanding of social platforms and digital storytelling
Strong problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot edit/technical problems with our teams of editors and producers
Deep understanding of various social platforms and digital storytelling
Creative thinker with a strong sense of design and ability to be up to date with and stay ahead of current trends

MUST HAVES:
4­+ years of digital design and motion experience at a brand or agency
Knowledge of After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Suite
A sense of humor and positive attitude

BONUS POINTS:
Experience with After Effects Expressions, Javascript, Essential Graphics, or Premiere
