Hot Damn! it's a Freelance job

Here's the deal: Google is looking for a Freelance Systems UI/UX Designer to make magic in our San Francisco, CA, USA office. You don't have be located in the Bay Area really.

Our Mission
The Payments Platform UX team at Google aims to create and launch beautiful, safer, and scalable payment experiences for multiple teams and products at Google. The team specifically focuses on how users complete purchases for physical goods, digital goods, as well as subscriptions and services across a number of different Google products, spanning multiple countries. This includes consumer facing payment experiences on products such as YouTube or Google Play, as well as enterprise experiences for people using Google Ads or Google Cloud.

About the role
We’re looking for a senior designer to define, build, and maintain the payments platform design system. Built on top of Google’s Material design language, the payments platform design system focuses on scalable UI components and patterns specific to payments experiences across all of Google’s products. You’ll be a thought partner to a team of UX designers who go deep into product solutions, and will work with them to understand which UI components and patterns work best for various solutions, where new components might be needed, and where it might make sense to simplify and ensure consistency. You’ll also work closely with Engineers to translate the design language into specs and redlines and figure out what is possible to implement now versus future state concepts.

You should have an inspiring portfolio, a great design sense, and a passion for applying systems thinking to solve problems at scale.

Job Responsibilities
Contribute to the evolving payments design system.
Conduct audits to identify any gaps or inconsistencies to solve for.
Collaborate with designers on exploring new payments patterns and simple-to-complex components built on Google’s Material existing design language.
Document and communicate the anatomy of components and how they behave so that designers, engineers, and product managers get the most out of the design.
