Google is looking for a Freelance Senior UX / Product Designer (12-month contract) in Mountain View, CA, USA.

The Ecosystems team at Google Nest focuses on creating experiences that make it easier for third party (3P) companies (partners & vendors) outside of Google to deliver smart home solutions that work better together with Google. This ultimately results in giving our consumers not only the best user experience, but empowers them with more choices of what they use in their homes.

Google Nest is looking for a senior UX / product designer to join the Ecosystems team to lead features that enable 3P partners and developers to work better together with Google’s smart home solutions.

You will be a thought partner to product managers, engineers, and UX researchers by navigating ambiguity and applying design thinking to contribute to early product definition and strategy. You will work with user research to develop a compelling vision of what the ideal UX could be.

Strategize, brainstorm, and define key features for one or more products
Translate abstract ideas and requirements into tangible and beautiful design deliverables
Define a future vision as well as deliver iterative product releases
Advocate for changes and ongoing improvements based on user insights and new business requirements
Design flows, information architecture (AI), journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and final pixel-perfect visual designs.
Work with 3P partners and developers outside of Google

Ability to distill complex processes into simple, clear, user interactions
Experience with bringing consumer-centric design sensibilities to B2B digital experiences
Experience with IA and defining new ways to organize information and experiences
Strong visual design skills and attention to detail
High organization and efficiency working with multiple projects to meet tight deadlines
Excellent written communication and documentation skills
