The Plunge (www.theplunge.com), the only site for grooms, is creating an exciting new DTC (direct-to-consumer) start-up venture. We are gearing up to launch and looking to hire a team to build and run the business, which we believe will disrupt an industry and improve the experience of millions of people. The Digital Design Director will guide the look and feel of the product/experience from start to finish.
About The Role
The Digital Design Director is responsible for helping to build and establish the brand identity. You will guide the brand visual aesthetic and ensure consistent end-to-end brand experience across all media. This includes the development of both online and offline marketing assets (e.g., online video, display ads, social media, email, site content, landing pages, packaging, etc.).
This is a unique opportunity to be in-house for two months (we are based in New York) and build a consumer brand from the ground up. The position will begin as freelance work, but the job could extend beyond that time frame.

Bring the brand to life by leading and overseeing all creative development for marketing, promotion, packaging and web assets across multiple mediums.
Conduct meetings with creatives and developers to advise, understand challenges and help solve problems.
Work directly with founder to strategize creative solutions.
Partner with other teams (edit, data analytics, social media) to develop creative briefs and deliver campaigns and assets that meet business objectives.
Refine, own and guide the visual identity and voice across all consumer-facing touch points (web, social, product, packaging, etc.).
Lead and direct all photography/videography.
Guide the creative process and the creative team's work from start to finish by managing project flow and prioritization.
A strong, dynamic portfolio that demonstrates your creative vision and aesthetic and your ability to elevate a brand across a wide range of platforms.
5+ years of experience in brand creative direction (ideally including creative leadership role) with an emphasis in art direction and design.
Experience overseeing creative for e-commerce (including UX/UI design and knowledge of mobile responsive design) and digital performance marketing channels preferred.
Excellent computer skills in relevant art and design software packages (e.g., Adobe Suite – Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch).
Experience working in a start-up or fast-paced environment, under tight deadlines, where innovation and rapid iteration is essential and initiatives/priorities can change frequently.
Excellent presentation skills.
