Pirate Wires (piratewires.com) is an incisive, fresh, and opinionated media brand covering developments at the intersection of technology, media, and culture.

We’re looking for our first brand & graphic design hire who can take responsibility for the visual identity of the Pirate Wires brand and every piece of content that we publish.
Full time or part time.

Your work will include:

- Work with our Editor In Chief (https://twitter.com/micsolana) to further develop the Pirate Wires brand and visual identity
- Establish distinct visual identities for several sub-brands that will be launching later this year
- Own every newsletter’s entire visual identity
- Daily graphics for the flagship (Pirate Wires)
- Original art for larger feature reporting
- Continue to develop Pirate Wires’ edgy visual identity

You should apply if:

- You want to be given the responsibility & autonomy that comes with working with a small team
- You have incredible taste and a portfolio that demonstrates this (years of experience doesn’t matter as much as your taste & talent)
- You can produce content quickly and creatively, occasionally under demanding deadlines
- You can create branding and content that is as arresting and stunning as the average Pirate Wires newsletter
- You thrive in an environment of close collaboration and direct communication

BONUS POINTS...Special consideration will be given to candidates who:
- are open to working in-person at our Miami office (completely optional, but a plus)
- have talent in interface design, as you'd be able to lead the design buildout of our forthcoming website
- fit the "creative technologist" description, as you'd be able to work with our team to create stunning 1 of 1 experiential media to accompany our media.

Workload will range from 15-40 hours per week.
