Freelance- Long-form content writer/editor posting:

We are seeking an experienced long-form content writer to support an iconic tourism brand for New York State. This is a phenomenal 3 month freelance experience for someone with a love for language who can bring enthusiasm, creativity and a passion for excellence. You’ll be part of a collaborative client team, working on multiple projects to generate content ideas, write articles, and deliver on the project’s objectives. You’ll research industry, product, audience, and other relevant information to successfully complete writing assignments, and conduct interviews with customers and industry experts. Our ideal candidate has a enthusiasm of storytelling and curiosity for discovery and adventure, particularly around travel and tourism, is as passionate about the creation of content as the research and rigor that supports it.

Responsibilities include:
Work with an iconic tourism brand for New York State to brainstorm editorial plans and requirements for creation and curation of content related to the program
Work with clients to understand objectives and develop content that supports them
Create original content that lives across multiple platforms. Repurpose existing content into new formats to help meet program objectives
Ensure quality standards for copy and adherence to the brand’s style and voice
Understand the competitive environment for this project and develop content that’s industry leading, relevant and engaging
Research industry, product, audience, and other relevant information to successfully complete writing assignments

The ideal candidate has:
Bachelor's degree in English, communications, linguistics, or related field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proven editorial, copywriting and proofreading skills.
Has experience writing about travel and tourism, and knowledge of New York State
Ability to multi-task projects and deliverables
Is as passionate about the creation of co
