Our sweet spot is communicating complex science through big data and modern design. We have built data infrastructure and websites for organizations including Google X, the Office of Al Gore, and ClimateWorks.

As Head of Design, you will help lead the design process to uncover novel ways of communicating complex climate science to delight our clients and the climate-concerned community. Your design leadership and enthusiasm will be critical to our ongoing success.

Key requirements:
- But first, design: You must possess excellent digital design skills, and a firm grasp of the design process and its tools.
- You have an outstanding portfolio of distinctive digital product/experience designs. This role requires a mastery of contemporary design best practices, tools, and methodologies.
- You’re a creative leader: Experience managing design teams at a top-tier product company or digital agency is a must.
- You bring a unique perspective: This role will offer fresh product ideas and world-class design.

Responsibilities and qualifications:
- Lead a multi-disciplinary design team to identify user needs and define product strategy.
- Help manage internal stakeholders and clients to deliver projects of the highest caliber.
- Develop the vision for a single, large product or experience or multiple small-to-medium experiences.
- Convincingly present a product/experience vision to internal stakeholders and clients
- Lead a design team to turn raw vision into outstanding designs and prototypes.
- Partner with product management teams to oversee the project process, ensuring high-quality output at every phase.
- Collaborate with data scientists to formulate new interpretations of data visualizations.
- Closely partner with Creative Technologist (new role) to develop new models, experiences, and interactions.
