Working closely with the Editorial team at Beyond Luxury Media I designed The Beat print magazine, distributed to delegates at the 2017 We Are Africa Event in Cape Town and supported online by the We Are Africa blog. The 2017 edition of The Beat magazine saw a revamp to the overall look of the publication and sent a new message “always something creative out of Africa”. When designing the magazine I took into consideration the wide range of topics with content ranging from articles about artists such as Tony Gum, Cyrus Kabiru and Aida Muluneh to African conservation and travel destinations. The result is clean design that uses asymmetry to create an engaging platform for the wide range of content. The We Are Africa event is Africa’s hottest gathering of high-end African travel, brands, world-class buyers and top international press. The Beat magazine provides stories from We Are Africa, the African continent and around the globe.
