George and Suzy Frelinghuysen, a pair of modern artists sometimes referred to as the "Park Avenue Cubists," began their glamorous courtship in 1933. During an intermission at the Met Opera, a bold George dared Suzy to guess classic songs as he hummed them. The two soon married, filling their home-turned-gallery with works of art from Picasso, Braque, and Leger alongside paintings, drawings, and frescoes of their own. The site design was also appropriated for a series of print advertisements, which publicized the museum's never-before-seen film exhibit in various local publications throughout the summer. In tandem, these ads and updated website shone a spotlight on the artistic couple and the world in which they lived.
