Feeding America Summer Hunger 2017

Feeding America partnered with AdCouncil and Facebook to create a campaign to raise awareness around child hunger in the summer months. Often times when school ends for the summer a lot times that may mean food insecurity for children. The concept was to transform an ice-cream truck into a mobile billboard that served as our primary device for our message. The truck was served as a canvas for our creative team and artist. We painted several staggering statistics and facts onto our truck. The result was a stunning 1997 GMC Diesel truck with a very important message to deliver across America. After finalizing our truck we set off on a cross-country journey. We kicked off our journey in NYC's Times Square. From NYC we stopped at six other markets; Cleveland, Chicago, St. Louis, Denver, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. In each market we stopped by a local food bank, pantry or feeding site. At these locations we produced Facebook Lives that included interviews, tours, musical acts, mascots, jugglers and a lot more. We ended our trek in Los Angeles at a feeding site. Here with help of a few celebrities we finished our journey by delivering meals to children and encouraging people to donate and/or volunteer.
