Ninjas vs Superbugs

Superbugs – or, drug resistant bacteria – are a growing threat. To fight them, IBM Research is developing a new weapon in its lab: Ninja Polymers. They kill deadly bacteria in an entirely new way – quickly, silently, and for good.

Ninjas vs Superbugs tells the world about the amazing things IBM Research is working on in a short action video that combined new fabrication techniques, live action, and traditional animation. Since Ninja Polymers are too small to actually see in action, the story is told with 3D-printed puppets based on microscopic images, creating scientific personalities in the process.

I worked on developing the overall concept, collaborated on the character design and story line development, and defined the overall look and feel of the film. Also designed the poster for the film, along with several other print and motion campaign touch points.
