MASKS 2014 - 2016 a project for AIPI Onlus
Masks is the photographic project created by Gianluigi Di Napoli in collaboration with AIPI in 2014 to focus attention on a degenerative and highly disabling pathology and raise funds to support the activities of the association.
The 2014 edition of Masks - which received the honorary mention at the MIFA Moscow International Photo Awards - has involved twelve Italian female icons from the world of entertainment, music, culture and sports, posing as models for a calendar, Whose distinctive character condensed the sense of illness in the clown mask element. The make-up was made by David Larible, the most famous living clown, who invented exclusive and customized masks, adapting elements of “classic” clown masks to the face of each testimonial.
The protagonist of Masks 2016 edition is Federica Pellegrini. The concept of the new campaign, which sees Federica Pellegrini as the sole protagonist, is closer to the patient's experience. The interpretation of the distinctive features of the manifestation of the illness is recalled in the seven photographs, from three codes related to the reference universe of the Italian champion: the fundamental life element (air), the color of water (blue) and the metaphor of rebirth (flowers).
