For the Spring/Summer 2016 collections, Nordstrom’s design director Jeffrey Kalinsky invited Snarkitecture to create a versatile set for the lookbook. With a requirement of 18 looks and 18 accessories, we were challenged to create a singular set piece that could photograph from many angles to avoid a monotonous-feeling lookbook. Working with Snarkitecture’s signature carved-out motif, we created a piece that has both a concave and convex side for the looks and specific moments for the accessories.
My role in the project was in refining the physical shape of each carved piece and creating niches for accessories. I also worked with the fabricator to create shop drawings and strategize successful construction methods.
