There are over 6.5 million children in the United States that have special needs. One of the basic developmental skills for children is tracing or writing. The difficulty with such basic skills leads to poor life skills, and can eventually lead to unemployment and lifetime dependence on caregivers.
We created Candy Trace to solve this problem. It is a tracing application for children with special needs, designed to continuously challenge and encourage them. It is completely data driven and it measures and reports the progress of each child.
The two goals of Candy Trace are to provide motivation and increase self-esteem amongst special needs children and to increase care coordination between parents, therapists, and teachers.
My role was the principal product and visual designer of the mobile application.
