#NOTAFAN of Domestic Violence

#NOTAFAN of Domestic Violence is a fan-focused public awareness campaign that empowers sports fans to take a stand against domestic violence.   Domestic Violence is a relevant and timely subject in the Athlete world given recent news of domestic violence incidents with the New York Giants kicker Josh Brown. The campaign provided fans with a means to express support for their team, while advocating that domestic violence is unacceptable. “I'm a fan of football but #imnotafan of domestic violence.” The spots were crafted to look more like sports commercials (i.e Gatorade), rather than conventional PSAs, to connect and grab our target audience attention. Partnered with director Jimmy Ferguson and writer Alexis Grenell, and we were able to create a series of 7 videos launched by New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito on Times Square, and stayed on the donated Clear Channels screen of Time Square for three weeks. It was also featured on Madison Square Garden, The Yankee Stadium, and NYC Taxi screens. Major Athletes such as Joe Girardi from the Yankees or former Knicks star John Starks were key collaborators of the campaign.
