Mobile positioning company Rx Networks partnered with us to create a ‘SmartBeacon’ brand that would stand apart in the overly engineered IoT space. Their location technology is superior, so we needed a brand that would disrupt. We named it Fathom, and to sell it I had to design an identity derived from data visualizations, to entice stakeholders away from an expected lighter feel.
Its dark theme and enigmatic name immediately aroused interest, making for a successful product launch at the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona.
