McMullin's Micro-Brewery Logo Design
Grant McMullin’s side-project micro-brewery required something special:
a logo that would set it apart from the stereotypical craft beer brands out there.
The challenge was to avoid coming across as too soft or feminine. By keeping
the letterforms sharp with good posture this was achieved, ultimately creating
an unexpected & unique logotype.
A prevalent brand characteristic for McMullin’s is minimalism — from the black & white colour palette to the lack of a holding device or pay-off line — and this had to be extended onto the bottles themselves.
Simply running the logo vertically up the side not only gave it a distinguished & striking appearance, but also allowed the brand to be noticeable when someone would be drinking from it.
