Academic project at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, in collaboration with Drew Seyl.
This project is a response to an urban code developed by other students for the Gowanus area of Brooklyn. The code established time- and space-sharing requirements for residents, businesses, and public institutions that forced the merging of unlike programs. The project includes three of these mergers: a car wash/video game arcade; a brewery/fitness center; and a condominium. All three buildings exploit the language of the written code to limit the intrusion of one program upon another.
