Viva.com, now Rent.com, pioneered an alternative to the painstaking plod through the classifieds to find an apartment. To launch the brand, we created a contextual campaign starting by staging an event: A crazy guy, like so many you see on Venice Beach, predicting the end of the classifieds. Next came bar take-overs, wild postings in bathrooms, and traditional media – yes, even small space advertising in the dreaded classifieds.
