Red Hat is the open-source software company responsible for the technology that runs the web. Their website was suffering from a very constrained content management system with templates that didn’t allow them to explain their products or tell their story. Red Hat’s brand is very unique to the software industry; it’s confident, typographic and photographic. As Lead Visual Designer on their website redesign, I was responsible for extending their bold design language for use on the web. To allow Red Hat to share their story, I crafted a highly flexible system of design patterns that could be used responsively across their 100s of site pages. These components were designed to be mixed and matched in unlimited combinations by their editorial team to create unique pages.
