VW Teases the Launch of the new Beetle

How do you tease the launch of a car you can’t show? The solution turned out to be easier to conceive than to actually produce. We enlisted the help of acclaimed director Dante Ariola and the Mill in London to bring the story to life. And Jon Spencer Blues Explosion stepped in to write and produce a cover of the song “Black Betty.” Then, 8 grueling weeks after the concept for an incredibly realistic animated commercial titled “Black Beetle” was sold, it ran on Super Bowl XLV. Volkswagen’s Beetle commercial placed #4 on Sands Research Annual Super Bowl Ad Neuro Engagement ranking and was rated #12 on the USA Today AdMeter.
