I believe in designing for the purpose of improvement. One day I read a quote, "time is a man-made concept" and I thought about how a calendar is always set on a linear grid and each month gave me no feeling of seeing time passing. I found inspiration in tree rings that tell age and loved the idea to use an organic form as a guide to design a calendar.
Each month is a ring that expands outwards. January starts at the center and the year ends with December as the outer ring. Weeks are separated by bullet points the way you find knots in tree trunks. Below is the calendar in use. I wrote doctor appointments, birthdays and crossed-off days the way I note important dates in calendars.
