Clairol.com is not only place where you cannot only find your perfect hair color, but a website where you can find tips, trends and articles to be your best-self. When working on this website, we wanted to provide users with a holistic experience that allowed them to shop and learn about how to color according to their current hair color, skin tone and texture. We successfully accomplished just that.
The website, is composed of countless pages, hundreds of colors, dozens of articles and a unique art direction. Utilizing Clairol’s overall branding and translating this to a proper website Ui was a daunting task. We took all of the proper steps necessary to make it a successful translation while keeping it recognizable for our loyal consumers. We also had to acknowledge the unique branding of each of the Clairol sub-brands (Nice n’ Easy, Natural Instincts, Age Defy, Root Touch-Up, Perfect10, and Tones & Textures)– we decided to go with gold, black and white as those unifying colors.
The website was successfully developed by our team in India, for which we created an extensive Ui guide, functional specs, cut-assets and PSD files. Our producers flew out to India to work closely with our developers to make sure our vision would be properly developed–and it was. Clairol.com went live early 2016.
