In 2012, Google planned on launching an entertainment service to take Apple's iTunes store head-on. They asked us to create a brand for their entertainment platform. This was Google's Manhattan Project, five years in the making.
We created the brand from scratch, from the name (it was originally called Google Fi), to the logo (a 'play' button created by two intersecting klieg lights), to the brand line. Major launch work down to instructional videos. It took four years before all the work saw the light of day.
The end result is Google Play.
