The Heartbeat Symphony, for Dignity Health

Dignity Health is a dedicated network of hospitals and caregivers who believe in the power of human connection to help us heal. For Heart Health Month, we helped the company create The Heartbeat Symphony, to raise awareness of our most important instrument and connect people through music.

The concept behind the Heartbeat Symphony had never been done before, and was no small feat. Together with Acne production, we invented a sequencer to turn each person's heartbeat into notes, and then assigned those notes to an instrument in a real orchestra. The site even used webcam technology to read your heartbeat from your face (yes, really).

When you became part of the experience, your personalized data transformed into a beautiful piece of music, while also connecting your heartbeat to the heartbeats of others to create a beautiful, inspiring and human symphony.
