Old Navy Flip Flop Block

Summer was heating up. We needed to put Old Navy in a position to win the summer with a truly shareable moment. At the same time we needed to help bring our wider ‘Come Fun, Come All’ campaign alive in an exciting and surprising way. To launch Old Navy's summer line, we encased 572 pairs of flip flops in three 22,950 lb. blocks of ice. We put these blocks of ice on busy intersections in Santa Monica, New York City and Tokyo. As the temperatures rose, the flip flops were slowly freed and gifted to pedestrians on the street, reminding everyone that Old Navy is the place for summer fun. 80,000+ visitors attended each installation and 2,466 pairs of flip flops were given out worldwide.

The Old Navy Flip Flop block was a One Show finalist and featured in the Communications Advertising Annual.
