Marbles is the app that prevents dementia caregivers from losing their minds, too.
As many as 15 million Americans offer unpaid care to a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease. These caregivers experience high levels of emotional stress and depression.
Marbles alleviates amateur caregivers’ mental and emotional strain. It helps users track their patient’s mood and state of mind and flag behaviors symptomatic of the disease. It is a champion of the caregiver, providing both practical support and peace of mind.
This app has long been my passion project; two members of my family suffer from Alzheimer's and dementia, and my mother serves as their caregiver. The research and user experience was fleshed out in General Assembly's User Experience Design course with Clay Newton. You can view additional research and UX for Marbles here.
