Feminist Poster Project
What if the words men called us were plastered behind us? What if our favorite feminist figures had let these words define them? What if women everywhere succomb to these stereotypes?
These are the questions I explored in a passion project with advertising partner, and writer Jess Tardy. Through a series of 8 silkscreen poster prints we explored the overlay of words and figures.
This series contrasts powerful feminists throughout the last 50 years juxtaposed with negative labels "wallpapered" behind them. When you take into account what all these women have accomplished, these attributions may seem crazy. However, none of them would have achieved such success without wading through a sea of critics and name-callers.
These women inspire me, and I hope they will inspire you too.
