In the midst of the pandemic, the president of the United States suggested that disinfectant could potentially cure Covid-19. In this series, I reimagine that history, injecting my own experiences of disorientation, isolation, and mortality. The entire series, inspired by a single tweet, uses me as both subject and photographer and was entirely done in my basement.
At the time, I had no idea what an art director was. I was a photographer, early in my career, and very lost about how to be a story teller when I had lost access to my most important asset at the time, people. I spent days, months, figuring out how to tell the story. I sketched, designed, and concepted for months before even beginning creating the images. I didn’t know what an art director was at the time, but this project was the genesis of my journey in becoming one.
