The New York Philharmonic, was interested in conducting usability testing of their current digital archives site with the help of Pratt Institutes Center for Digital Experiences. The primary focus of this project was to provide the NY Philharmonic archives, important findings and feedback from the user tests, to help them make informed decisions for the redesigning of the website. In this usability study, the “think-aloud” method was used and the tests were screen recorded as a form of raw data. Though the users were happy about the aesthetics and breadth of information available on the website, they experienced some usability issues with search results, while navigating the website and other minor findings.
