Magic Penny - Shine Arts & Wellbeing CIC

Magic Penny is a two-page comic strip that I draw for Shine Neuroverse, a quarterly magazine created by Shine Arts & Wellbeing CIC. As the name suggests, the magazine is about celebrating neurodiversity.

The strip itself is about a young witch-in-training. In keeping with the theme of neurodiversity, the plots of each comic strip tend to include exaggerated, humorous portrayals of the types of things people with ADHD, autism, dyslexia etc. may encounter on a daily basis, whether they be words moving around on the page, sensory overload or forgetting to do important tasks. Of course everything turns out fine at the end of each instalment, with Penny's nonstandard approach to solving problems ultimately saving the day. I often draw from personal experience when coming up with the plots of each story.
