Reddit's r/graphicdesign Symbol

This is how I designed the new logo for Reddit’s official graphic design subreddit - r/graphic_design

One day a user named “tuchaioc” pointed out that ironically, the current icon for this subreddit is not the greatest, and that’s when sh*t hit the fan and everyone started creating their own logo, which felt like a canon event for this subreddit.

Everyone was offering their creative solution, even articles were written about it. Mostly, it was just some good memes, but I couldn’t help it and went completely serious.

I didn’t want to overthink it and I just wanted to create a symbol that represents “Reddit” + “Graphic design”, which in this case was the Reddit’s famous “Snoo” antenna + the PEN TOOL which if you ask me is kind of a universal symbol for graphic design.

So I posted it, and to my surprise, people really loved it, the admins contacted me and now it’s the official icon for the subreddit.
