ARCHITECTURE BOOKS

The Art of Inequality: Architecture, Housing, and Real Estate — A Provisional Report. Columbia University, School of Architecture.

The design of the book alludes to the pocket version of the Kerner Report (1968) issued as a response to the civil disorder in the summers of 1964–1967.
The content is extremely diverse and so the design spans from paperback text layout to diagrammatic sections. Part one contains photographs of the 125st by Emily Kloppenburg and Ilaria Ortensi, part Two is an essay, illustrated through house plans, and part three uses diagrams and thumbnails and adapts its layout to each contributor.

TOWARD AN URBAN ECOLOGY — SCAPE
Monacelli Press

Part monograph, part manual, and part manifesto, “Toward an Urban Ecology” reimagines urban landscape design as activism. It demonstrates how to integrate environmental, urban, and social issues into a unified approach to create a true urban ecology.
The book showcases a range of participatory and science-based strategies through SCAPE’s practice, featuring projects, collaborators, and essays on urban ecological design.
The design process was highly iterative, exploring multiple content organization strategies to capture SCAPE’s distinctive approach. The final version uses colors, layouts, and typographic hierarchy to guide
the reader through various projects, connecting ideas, experimentation, and projects throughout the pages.
