Gotham Girls Wrestling

For my final course in the online CalArts Graphic Design Specialization program, I was tasked with creating a brand identity for a fictional start-up of my choosing, in which Gotham Girls Wrestling (GGW) was birthed.

The concept is simple: an NYC-based all women’s pro wrestling league focused purely on the Japanese “puroresu”, strong-style form of wrestling.

GGW’s design identity centers itself on the unified grittiness that upholds the identity of New York City and the “puroresu” strong style of wrestling. Inspiration was taken from various NYC visual elements, such as the iconic “I <3 NY” logo, as well as the iconic NYC skyline.
