Gauchere SS2021 Decompression Ceremony

Following her ceremonial experience with Honour Thy Lovers and preliminary consultations about the defile concept, Honour Thy Lovers advised upon the framework of a Decompression Chamber to launch Marie-Christine Statz’s Gauchere SS21 collection opening PFW SS2021 and post-COVID lockdown in Paris. In line with elegant minimalism intrinsic to the house of Gauchere, we would pare down all unnecessary elements and magnify the crisp senses of scent and sound to support each piece as a form of simplicity and talisman. Cyclical loops of shamanic drumming sound, scent immersion and choreographed movement became a calm tide which enabled each attendee to sink into an ebb and flow between the layers of ceremony and defile (presentation).

A monogrammed altar cloth bound to bundles of Sage and Palo Santo were presented as offerings to attendees and supporters of the house to initiate this moment of breath and mystery within the space.
