SUBTEXT Coffee Roasters Space and Product Launch

When you hear the word coffee, perhaps the word immediately associated with it isn’t “spirituality”. But when I hear the world coffee, one of the first things I think about is family. Subtext Coffee Roasters is an independent roaster based in Toronto, Ontario. Established through their sister company, Boxcar Social, their throughline ethos of working ethically and meaningfully - with purpose, integrity, and humility - is apparent in all that they do.

Since the launch of their first space in Summerhill, I’ve worked closely with them to establish a relationship of trust, develop a core aesthetic and build a strong energetic foundation within each of their following spaces, properties and brand endeavours. When they approached me to help create the branding for their roastery — from defining the business name to forming marks to talismanic portals (mural) — it was an organic evolution and adventure I was thrilled to embark upon with them.
