At Ashley John Pigford's behest I took a long walk opposite my normal route, turning left where I would normally go right, resulting in a meandering path and a new perspective. I translated this perspective in a visual Constructivist poem to illustrate the branching paths that stem from every decision we make. Printed on a Vandercook letterpress in the letterpress studio at Penland School of Craft while assisting the Technographic Workshop digital fabrication/letterpress workshop.
Collaboration with Tricia Treacy and Ashley John Pigford.
Satisfied with my visual poem but wanting to explore the concept further I gathered each letterpress block from my poem into a kit of parts. The result: a second print representing the time and space in which my choices reside. An independent arrangement built from the duration and consequence of my choices, represented in one of infinite variations.
