The Fool's Pursuit

This project is my Senior Capstone project I completed in my last 5 months as a Visualization student at Texas A&M and was in charge of all pieces of the production pipeline. It is an exploration of modernist animation techniques in background art and explores the tension between 2D and 3D space in 2D animation. I used these techniques to create a short film made up of a series of background paintings accompanied by basic character illustrations. This short revolves around a simple narrative: A Court Jester, who after being rejected from the King’s ball, is led on a mouse chase.
