Monos

Monos is a new cafe and bakery label based in Shanghai. Founded in 2020 with a single coffee shop and hero product Cannelé, Monos received widespread acclaim in Shanghai among coffee lovers and independent coffee and bakery shops.

After three years of operation, they plan to innovate and expand their business by building a new baking factory, transforming the original small workshop baking for their own sales into a baking line, providing customized, standardized, high-quality baking products for coffee shops and restaurants, and thus becoming a B2B baking product supplier and baking system solution provider.

Inspired by their hero product, Cannelé, we generated a brand new symbol mark that stands for the letterform M which is the initial letter of Monos, and for the shape of a Cannelé. As for the typographic treatment, we choose a leading typeface with a standard and modern feeling and a sub-typeface that is set in mono style to enhance the feeling of manufacturing, and as well, a humorous match between the mono style and the brand name Monos.

Daydreaming by Monos is an independent coffee shop operated by Monos in Shanghai. After three years of operation, alongside the rebranding for Monos, the expression of this space is also looking for refinement and upgrade for better quality.

Pocca was commissioned to refresh the visual identity system of Daydreaming by Monos. Starting from the concept of daydreaming itself, we presented the relaxation of 'daydreaming with coffee' through a symbol of dreaming and a hand-script logotype, which helped the coffee shop to be more easily recognized on the street and presented to consumers and passersby with a sense of everyday relaxation.
