Abetka is my bachelor degree project. This work is a way to draw attention to both the beauty of my country and the hell in which Ukrainians live today.
It represents self-identification of Ukrainians, our cultural heritage, which our ancestors preserved for us, and today we continue these traditions. Ukrainian identity is clear today, we create a living culture, weaving our authentic motifs into contemporary concepts, discovering the richness of our national heritage. The letters illustrate crafts and folk art, old customs that have survived to this day, events in the history of Ukraine that left their mark on the formation of national culture.
There are two versions of the alphabet. The second version filled with images of the tragic reality that Ukrainians have to deal with every day - destruction, fear and death.
