Product Context
Webdam is a digital asset management platform (recently acquired by Bynder, 2018). Also, Webdam has two additional tools, a brand portal CMS and a task management tool for creatives, giving their customers full control over the asset lifecycle.

The Challenge
The tool has grown quite a bit in the past decade, but as Webdam shifted from a scrappy startup to a full enterprise, the company’s tools needed to be more efficient. When I joined the team, I moved us to a shared component library that was dramatically easier to maintain.

The Solution
A systematically shared component library comprised of “super services,” i.e., components that adapt to the product they run on. In addition, a full UI component library was also designed to align all of the products into a unified experience.
