Ara

When Ara asked me to develop their brand, they weren't even called that. They are a new political risk consultancy specialized in Brazil–China relations and based in Brasília.

The 3 young partners invited me to conduct a research to develop their brand strategy, name their business and create a visual identity system for it, along with designing and producing their basic stationery.

Among their clients, there are entrepreneurs, politicians and lobbyists from both countries, which led to a somber yet sophisticated look. Their name has multiple meanings in the ancient tupi language, such as day, sun, world, time, judgement, understanding and all that which is above. It was chosen to honor brazilian indigenous heritage with a strong name that is faced towards the future.

They were very pleased with the resulting designs and their brand book gave them the directions in which their communication efforts would be most srategic and fruitful. I also helped them hire a local portrait photographer, Diego Bresani, to take their portraits for future use.

For me, to see my clients and partners thrive with my help is the most satisfying feeling of the work I do. Also, the fact that this was the first project I realized since I began flying solo makes it all the more special to me as much as the products and strategies developed.
