By the year 2030, the world’s population is expected to grow by another billion people. We helped PepsiCo launch the campaign “Recipe for the Next Billion” to engage its consumers and stakeholders on solutions for feeding those people. PepsiCo’s recipe for the next billion is built around “doing more, using less” — growing more crops with less water, manufacturing with less waste and energy, and serving the needs of the next billion consumers. Its goal is to create snacks, beverages and foods that deliver the nutrition, hydration and enjoyment across different needs, lifestyles, and geographies.
To launch our branded campaign, we conceptualized, scripted, storyboarded, designed, and directed an animated video introducing the Next Billion initiative. Using a before-and-after approach revolving around the globe, we illustrate the challenges and how PepsiCo’s sustainable innovations are addressing them. We collaborated with illustrators, motion designers, and video editors to bring the story to life in a fun and memorable way.
The campaign video kicked off PepsiCo’s presence at events including the Aspen Ideas Festival and the United Nations Rio+20 Conference. It enabled PepsiCo to start a dialogue with its audiences about the company’s approach to sustainability and responsibility going forward.
