Sidekicks

As part of my senior capstone project, 2 other students and I created an official 501c(3) nonprofit organization called Sidekicks that co-creates stuffed animals for children experiencing homelessness. Sidekicks is still fully operating today.My job entailed creating a brand identity and timeless visual language for Sidekicks. The final deliverables included a brand identity, brand guidelines, promotional items, stationary, a website, and an illustrated storybook co-authored by the Sidekicks team.

Doodlies are Made for... is a product of Sidekicks. The book was an addition to our nonprofit and is included in the programming. Currently, we have limited copies that are used to read to the kids. The goal of the book is to encourage imagination and to include underlying values that both the kids and the parents. We had many brainstorming sessions to come up with the storyline and the characters. Additionally, there were a few rounds of character sketches and storyboarding before diving into the final digital illustrations.
