Mobile Pilot Briefing - Lean UX Process

The goal of this project was to create a solution to assist pilots outside the cockpit. We wanted to help them prepare and plan for flights, while being better informed of changes to their duty day.

I will be focusing on the following 3 pain points for this use case:

Pilots and their airlines have issues connecting and communicating during their duty day.
Pilots have issues keeping track of their duty day/ training deadlines
Airlines and their pilots have strict regulations they have to follow, so a lot fo their technology is riddled with security and old fashioned communication methods (eg phone calls vs messaging).

We hypothesized that a phone app summarizing the information, while keeping track of their schedule and regulations would be the best benefit for MVP. I also wanted to figure out a way to use push notifications and check in info to the pilot's private cell phones, while staying within regulations guidelines.

My solution hypothesis turned out to be accurate (more testing is needed). My user testing iterations and follow-up questions made it fairly easy to come up with the lingo I needed to properly design the push notifications.
