Alongside the first month of a global pandemic, I lost my ability to create or produce anything at all. Incapacitating daily headaches kept me from doing what I love for 5 straight months as we were all forced to adapt to a new sense of isolation. In short, I lost my most crucial coping mechanisms. I told myself that if I got back to doing what I love that I'd turn this feeling into an animation. The result was not only a cathartic middle finger to that experience, but also a project that helped me break past several creative constraints.
"Coping" is primarily frame by frame animation with some help from After Effects. The goal was to create a piece with two distinct visual palettes and components that start separate before coming together. On top of that I wanted to present the loop in 3 different ways. This ended up being B&W, Full Color, and Psychedelia.
